I have use auctionchex just once and at that time i couldn’t see a need for this service. I have always dealt with Paypal to run my business and have never had any problems.

However, the seller insisted that I use this service instead of direct Paypal payment.

Since then, I have had a $700 chargeback deducted / applied to my Paypal account balance by a delinquent customer, that still had my product.

I can now see the need for this type of service.

In any event... The last time I used auctionchex, I was allowed to pay via Paypal. I have since learned that Paypal does not allow auctionchex to use it as a means of payment.

My question is... Can i still use Paypal somehow to load up my hyperwallet ?

Hello,

Hyperwallet is normally used where the seller wishes to pay all the fees, and accumulate low value International payments, then exchange to local currency and request a withdrawal - saving them on bank fees etc, as they only have one incoming payment, and it is also convenient for their buyers.

The reverse applies for buyers who wish to make multiple payments - it is more prudent to make one large payment Hyperwallet, to cover multiple lower value payments, thus saving them the fees involved to make multiple payments to AuctionChex.

For buyers who are making infrequent payments - then no need to use Hyperwallet, just make a payment for each transaction as and when created.

I am not sure if you want to use Auctionchex to make a payment or receive a payment, please clarify, then I can help you further, also it will help if I know which country you are in ?

Hey there, thanks for the reply.

The seller is insistent that I use Auctionchex, because he will be notified that I have made a payment and will cross ship my items. Otherwise, I will have to use another money order service and wait until it arrives to him, before shipping of my items will take place.

I am from Canada and am purchasing in USD.

I have tried to use Paypal to “Make a paymet”… There is no Papal / e-money option anymore, so this wont work.

I have tried to use Credit Card and I receive a form validation error saying “Please select GBP as the currency type for Nochex transactions, thanks you”

?..

OK, I understand now,

We process credit card payments via Nochex, they only accept GBP, which is why you get the validation error, sdo to use that option, you need to select GBP as the currency to pay AuctionChex with.

As you are in Canada, and can obtain US$ money orders, something which cannot be done elsewhere outside of the USA and Canada, then the only advantage for you in using AuctionChex is the fact your seller will cross ship, and of course the transaction can all be done online, whereas sending a US$ money yourself will save you a little money but with a time delay involved and of course you have to visit your Post Office etc .

As I don't know how much the transaction is for or how quickly you need the item purchased, then cannot say to you if using AuctionChex for this purchase is worthwhile for you or not ?

My problem with using GBP is this...

I need to send $257.50 USD to my seller.

If i pay auctionchex via USD i pay: $275.65 USD total == 327.391 CAD total.

275.65 USD = 327.391 CAD TOTAL
United States Dollars Canada Dollars
1 USD = 1.18770 CAD 1 CAD = 0.841960 USD

Then if i switch the payment to auctionchex over to GBP i pay: 206.46 GBP total == $371.249 CAD

206.46 GBP = 371.249 CAD
United Kingdom Pounds Canada Dollars
1 GBP = 1.79816 CAD 1 CAD = 0.556123 GBP

So im having to pay an extra $43.85 CND just so i can pay auctionchex in GBP ?

Maybe im missing something here (bad math)... but is that not strange ?

Please help me understand as well. I have the same situation, with about 20% discrepancy whether I simply pay for the transaction or finance it through Hyperwallet, if I understand correctly. Sending 80 Euros to Belgium from the US.

Thanks!

For both of you (sorry I forgot to reply back to arm123)

Our credit card processor only accepts GBP payments, frustrating I know, because for some there is a double conversion, once with AuctionChex and again with your credit card service where your local currency is not GBP.

(If you are in the UK, it is better (and cheaper) for you to pay AuctionChex via direct bank transfer)

The exchange rates used in your above example are mid market rates, not actual exchange rates, so a slightly unfair comparison as actual exchange rates are 'worse' than mid market rates - which are used as a guide only by ALL financial services from which to base their actual rates on.

Linked below is a page with ALL the payment methods we can accept, maybe ther is one you can use to avoid the double exchange rate when using a non GBP credit card ?

Again, aplologies for the delay in the reply, normally you would get a reply within 24 hours, if not shout at me via email :-)
